Are you just starting out in Wedding Photography? Would you like to book a wedding but you don’t have photos to show in your portfolio? Do you have photos in your portfolio – but you would like a few more? Then this workshop is for you!

This is a great portfolio building opportunity for photographers who are looking to get started in wedding photography! Whether you have already decided to start a photography business or you are just curious & want to see what type of photographs you can take – this is the perfect opportunity to get some great portfolio shots!

This workshop is for those who have a basic understanding of their camera & how to use various modes such as aperture priority and manual. But be sure to leave your pens & notebooks behind & bring what you love – your camera gear, this  is designed for those who are looking to start or add to their wedding portfolio – it will focus only on taking pictures & not have an educational component – although you are more than welcome to ask questions while we photograph! We will spend the afternoon taking engagement as well as bride and groom portraits in a beautiful indoor & outdoor setting.

Time & Date To Be Announced! But it will be in March!

If you are interested and would like to be kept informed of when Registration opens (and so you don’t miss out on Early Bird Registration Prices) – be sure to follow Brittany Gerth Photography on Twitter or Facebook!

I have been tossing this idea around in my head for a few months now – but putting on a workshop for photographers who are just starting out is something I would love to do. It would be a workshop that would allow participants to get great images for their portfolio without the pressure of a real wedding. It will give them a chance to experiment with different techniques, get great images, & network with other photographer. I remember when I was first starting out last year how frustrating it was wanting to book clients but having no portfolio to show. Right now it is just an idea – but it is definitely something I would love to do.

My parents used to own an antique store in southern California. And while they sold it a couple years after I came along, my mom still loved to browse antique stores. As a kid I hated being dragged along. Every time my mom would say “Oh! Let’s stop in that store.” I would roll my eyes and follow dragging my feet with shoulders slouched. It wasn’t until I moved away for college that I discovered my hidden love for antique stores – it was just waiting to come out.

So today, my mom and I had a mother-daughter day & decided to head to the small town of Mariposa for a day of antiquing. I didn’t come home with anything but I found plenty of treasures to photograph.

Congratulations again to our winners! Below you will find the nomination letters that were sent in on their behalf. They are so wonderful!
MARYA & MICHAEL

Marya and Michael were nominated by Marya’s sister Alaina:
I would like to nominate my sister and her fiancee Michael for the photo giveaway. My sister is one of the most generous caring people I know. She goes out of her way to make sure everyone around her is having a good time and is happy, even if it is at her own expense. Michael is definitely a character in so many great ways and he loves my sister with all his heart. Not only do I think Marya and Michael deserve and would greatly appreciate winning this contest but I think their wedding would be very fun and interesting to shoot. They both have very fun, playful, and easy going personalities. Marya is a full time nursing student and works in an elderly care facility and Michael is a full time business student and manages a company that sells Direct TV. They are getting married at Edna Valley Vineyard on June 25th, 2011 and do not have a photographer yet. We are from Southern California and I know she is feeling so overwhelmed trying to decide on vendors due to the distance and the fact that she is always busy. I know they would both appreciate winning as much as I appreciate them.
Thank you so much,
Alaina

ERIN & SCOTT
Eric and Scott were nominated by their friend Erica:
I would like to Nominate my best friends Erin Peterson and Scott McCormick for the Wedding Photo Giveaway!  Erin and I have been friends for as long as I can remember.  She is the most amazing person I know.  We have been through everything together.  Always the each others strength and shoulder to cry on to get through the bad and always there to celebrate the good!  She isn’t just my best friend, she is the sister I never had.  Four years ago she met Scott, they hit it off instantly and I knew he was the perfect guy for her.  They dated, fell in love and are getting married!  They are made for each other.  Most people talk about the fairy tale love bubble that we see in the movies, but in life that isn’t what makes a couple last.  Erin and Scott are the real deal, they are partners in life and compliment each other so well.  I couldn’t be happier that she found someone that makes her truly happy and wants to spend the rest of her life with; and I am lucky enough that she has asked me to be her maid of honor.  Scott is an great man, we instantly clicked and I consider him family.  Erin has always put her family and friends first in her life, she is so generous and supportive.  As we know, weddings are expensive, and its very important for Erin and Scott to have their closest friends and family present at their big day.  In this day with this economy we are all operating on a tighter budget and I don’t think anyone should have to compromise on their day.  I can’t think of a greater way to celebrate their big day then to capture the love they have and celebrating their life time commitment to one another.  I cannot think of anyone more deserving of winning this then Erin & Scott.
