Bernadette and Alex – along with their families – were so welcoming! From the day of the rehearsal I felt like I was apart of the family. It is couples and weddings like theirs that remind me of how grateful I am to be a wedding photographer. Bernadetted and Alex planned a beautiful ceremony in an old church, followed by a parade down the main street to the college with games and refreshment waiting, then a fun filled night of dancing at an old Ribbon Mill. While the girls were getting ready I stopped by the guys room and snapped a few fun pictures with Andrew.

The wedding party was great too! Not only were we able to capture the formals but they had no problem coming up with fun ideas – I love it!

As a tribute to Jennifer’s father there were fish in the center pieces and she had a fish pin on her bouquet.

A couple weeks ago I received a phone call from one of my most fav make-up artists Mickie of M by Mickie asking if I wanted to help her with a project that she stumbled upon. “Of course – I have the weekend free. What’s the project?” Mickie went on to tell me how she was asked to do the make-up for The Mariposa Playhouse‘s presentation of A Midsummer Night’s Dream.

So we loaded up the makeup bags (and an ice chest supplied with water and PBJ’s made by her awesome husband) and drove out to Mariposa. It was crazy, hectic, and very warm (no AC in the makeup room) – I was pretty sure I was going to melt along with the makeup! But neither Mickie nor I ended up as puddles on the floor and we enjoyed every minute of the craziness. I even had a chance to sneak out and snap some pictures : ) This was the company’s first play and they did AWESOME! There was a fantastic turnout both nights.

Last week I had the pleasure of photographing Amber and Kris’ reception in Southern, California. They have such a fun story behind their actual wedding ceremony which took place on 1/1/11. They entered into a contest in their local town of Lake Havasu for a wedding on 1/1/11 at 1:11am. After various interviews and such they were chosen to be married at the New Year’s Party the town was having – complete with fireworks and all! During their reception they played a video of the ceremony since it was such short notice and not everyone could make it out for their wedding.
