Vendor Spotlight: Brand E Pilates | Fresno Wedding Photography, Yosemite Wedding Photography

Can I just say that I hate working out. There, it’s out there – I will admit it. I cringe at the thoughtof having to work out – I would rather wash windows than workout. And I hate washing windows – it is the equivalent of torture to me. Am I getting my point across here? :)

That being said, I was first introduced to Pilates on a Reformer in September 2011 when I went to Florida to visit one of my best friends. She is a Pilates teacher out there and I went to a couple classes she was teaching. I loved rolling around the reformer machine rather than doing Pilates on the mat because it was just fun and took my mind off the fact that I was working out.

So once I started commuting to Fresno for work, I looked for a Pilates studio with reformer machines – because there was no way I was going to even think about going to a mat class ever again (yes, the reformer is that fun). And that was when I found Brandy of Brand E Pilates. I know nothing about Pilates – just that I like the machines. It was obvious that everyone in the class had been going for awhile, so I felt a little bit like an outsider but they quickly welcomed me as one of their own. And Brandy is a fantastic instructor and very patient with me when I have no idea what I am doing, or when I am about to fall off the box. Because lets get real – I have lost my balance and almost fallen a couple times. When that happens I act that I still have my s*it together and hope that no one saw.

Classes are an hour long and it goes by so so fast! Except for when we do abs – then it feels like forever because I have the weakest abs in the world!

Be sure to check out the Brand E Pilates website to view pictures of what the studio looks like and what its like during class – I had the opportunity in April to take some pictures of classes for her website :) You can also find the studio on Facebook!

If you are interested in coming out to a class with me let me know! I just started going again after a couple month hiatus and I would love to have you along with me! And Pilates is the perfect way to get toned up for your wedding!

Last week I had the pleasure of photographing Amber and Kris’ reception in Southern, California. They have such a fun story behind their actual wedding ceremony which took place on 1/1/11. They entered into a contest in their local town of Lake Havasu for a wedding on 1/1/11 at 1:11am. After various interviews and such they were chosen to be married at the New Year’s Party the town was having – complete with fireworks and all! During their reception they played a video of the ceremony since it was such short notice and not everyone could make it out for their wedding.

I am seeking 3-4 (possibly more) models for a photography session I will be photographing. Please see the details regarding this casting call below and submit your entry by providing 1-3 images in the category that you fit in below. Please feel free to forward to others you may know who might be interested in free photos and serving as a model for our session.

Hair and makeup will be provided by M by Mickie.

BRIDES & GROOMS

Photographs will focus on the bride getting ready and include portraits to showcase her make-up and hair. Then we will have a quick couples session with the “bride” and “groom.” This is the perfect opportunity for you to get some fun, free pictures while serving as a model for the session.

We are looking for a variety of wedding looks with at least 1-2 vintage inspired themes as well.

INDIVIDUALS

If your a “Bride” wanting some fun pictures but your other half just isn’t feeling it, please feel free to submit for yourself – we are happy to do a session focusing only on the “bride” getting ready & “bridal” portraits.

If you do not have a wedding dress, we are also happy to do just portraits focusing on your hair and make-up. You MUST supply your own hair accessories such as veils, etc.

Individuals and Couples MUST supply their own attire for this shoot and “brides” please note your gown WILL GET DIRTY. You can bring the dress you got married in and still have hanging in your closet, or you can buy a super-affordable white dress/gown from Craigs List, Ebay, a consignment store or even the David’s Bridal $99 dress sale.

Everyone MUST submit a few images of themselves (close up and full length if you have one – snapshots are fine) as well as the attire they plan to wear for the shoot. We very much need couples who are comfortable in front of the camera and affectionate with one another. Please include your availability – we are open to those available during the week and/or on weekends.

The session will last for most of the day with each individual/couples session being approximately 1.5 hours for hair/makeup and 30-40 minutes for photography session. It will be in the Fresno/Clovis area on a date in May that is to be announced as soon as we finish arranging the details with the participating vendors. We will provide more details on when, where and what to wear once you are confirmed as a model.

Email submissions to: info@brittanygerth.com

Subject: Casting Call

Submissions will be accepted until April 30, 2011. Please pass on to your friends or anyone you may think will be interested.
